Winter Sore Throat Remedy.

by Israel – 6th June, 2010.   no comments yet.

I found this great remedy in my trusty natural remedy book – “Gentle Healing Hands for Baby & Child”.

Salty Lemon Gargle
1) Combine the juice of half a lemon with one tablespoon salt in 1/2 cup warm water
2) Gargle the mixture at least 4 times a day

If you want a faster working remedy, instead of mixing with water, you could mix it with 1/2 cup sage tea.

I hope it works for you!

Amanda & Family – Bronte Beach – 20th March 2010.

by Sami Gale – 6th May, 2010.   no comments yet.

Amanda supported one of our wonderful clients causes by attending the Giant Steps Premium Wine Tasting Night last year, and won a silent auction item for some family portraits.

Amanda chose Bronte Beach for the location for their family portraits as it’s a favourite spot where the family spend time together. They are also British, so its a great way to share how they spend their time with family on the other side of the world. Stay tuned as we post more of Amanda’s images shortly…

Channel 9’s Jaynie Seal is a long time supporter of Sydney Children’s Hospital. She is also an Ambassador the Gold Week.

Jaynie & Ed happily share their gorgeous son Hayden with you as part of the Our Family book project. They chose to have their portraits done in the comfort of their home, creating a lasting memory of lifestyle portraits for themselves & Hayden.

This beautiful shot of the family amongst Hayden's toys was chosen by Jaynie & Ed to be included in the Our Family book

Liz & Family – Little Bay – 17th March 2010.

by Israel – 6th May, 2010.   no comments yet.

Liz is a Senior Doctor in the Emergency Department at Sydney Children’s Hospital and so jumped at the opportunity to participate in the Our Family book because she sees first hand why the hospital continually needs funds.

Little Bay is special to Liz & the family, and so was the logical choice for the location of their portrait session. As you can see from the images below, the family had loads of fun. I just love the collection of portraits chosen by Liz & Greg – they show the family unit, the individual personality of the children and of course, the Liz & Greg’s love for each other.

Tess registered for the Our Family book project because she wanted to give her mum a great present. And what a gift she gave mum & herself. Their portraits are simply beautiful and show the love that exists between mother & daughter.

This beautiful Mother Daughter Portrait was chosen by Tess & Sylvia to appear in the Our Family Book

Ed Halmagyi (aka Fast Ed) & Family Support Our Family.

by Israel – 6th May, 2010.   no comments yet.

We were pretty excited when Better Homes & Gardens Chef Ed Halmagyi (Fast Ed) agreed to lend his support the Our Family Book Project.

Israel had an absolute blast photographing Ed & his family at one of their favourite family hangouts. The outcome was not just a fabulous family portrait of Ed’s family for the Our Family book, but also some simply stunning portraits showing how much love & life there is in this family.

This is Ed & Leah's Favourite Family Portrait - it is the image they have chosen to share in the Our Family Book

Like Ed, you to can support the sick kids at Sydney Children’s Hospital by registering to be photographed for the Our Family book and the added bonus is you’ll get some amazing family portraits too! To learn more & register for Our Family click here.

Be The Best Mum You Can Be!.

by Israel – 5th May, 2010.   no comments yet.

Vision Personal Training at Randwick has just completed a 9 week Weight Loss Challenge which has produced some amazing results.

One great achievement was by a local Mum Jennifer Couttas. Jen lost over 12.4 kilos
in 9 weeks.

Jennifer was apprehensive about personal trainers but was convinced by her friend Alison that the Vision approach is different and they are so much more than a gym.

Jen’s daughter even sent a thank you to Jess (Jennifer’s trainer) because she was so proud of her Mum!

Vision are small friendly studios where everyone knows your name. We focus on the 4 E’s, being Emotions, Education, Eating and Exercise. We see Nutrition as being 70% of helping you achieve your weight loss goals and we also include Eating and Exercise Seminars and Shopping Tours as part of your Program.

For Mother’s Day, we are offering all Mum’s a free Eating To Lose Fat Fast Seminar. The Seminar is on Tues 11th May at 7PM at our Randwick Studio. To register, call Amanda 0406382192 or Stephanie 0414343654.

Cleaning Burnt Saucepans.

by Israel – 5th May, 2010.   no comments yet.

Speaking from experience, here is a tip for kitchen disasters like when you let potatoes or rice boil dry and your saucepan ends up blackened on the bottom.

  1. Open windows & spray orange/citrus air freshner – aim: reduce the smell before anyone notices!
  2. Use a scourer to quickly get rid of any food stuck to the bottom of the saucepan
  3. Discard the burnt food – obvious I know
  4. Grab some bicarb soda & coat the bottom of the saucepan so its covered in bicarb
  5. Pour in a table spoon or so of white vinegar – this will cause the bicarb to bubble
  6. Now use the scourer again & scrub to remove the black from the bottom – depending on how long the pan was left burning dry, you may need to do this a couple of times.

Alternatively, you could remove the handle, fill with soil, plant some seeds & voila, you have a new pot plant holder. You could even get creative and paint the outside of the pot if you wish. No-one will ever know!

It is an online emporium filled with all things ‘little and sweet’.

These are not just your average cupcakes either. Owner Cathy Cousins spent almost a year perfecting their recipes with some of Australia’s best bakers.

With a large corporate customer base, Cousins draws on her corporate marketing experience to design ribbon, swing tags and other embellishments unique to each corporate customer. They really are the most unique and memorable corporate gift:

A unique offering with a twist on your everyday cupcake shop, Sweet Little Things provides a fresh alternative to edible gifts and offers something more for those interested in design and handmade items.
