Day 2 of school – in the morning she told me “I don’t want to wear a uniform” & this pearla “I don’t want to listen to teachers”. I didn’t have the heart to tell her how many more years of this she will have:)

Day 3 of school – in the morning Indrani talks about school having too many rules. Then in the afternoon, she says “Mum give me the 5 L’s” – which turns out to be, Legs crossed, hands in Lap, Lips Locked, eyes Looking, ears Listening.

Day 5 of school – when walking to school she says “it really is boring wearing the same uniform, the same hat, the same shoes, the same socks everyday don’t you think mum?” Thinking on my feet I said it would make the weekend more exciting because she gets to choose her clothes. Her reply was “I’ll choose my yellow dress with Sweetie on it to wear after school today”.

I wonder what other words of wisdom will come out in the next few weeks.

When we returned from our night out, our babysitter told us that after kissing us goodbye & closing the door behind us, Indrani turned & said to her

“now that mum & dad have gone, we can change the rules ok!”

Of course we laughed at first, then it made us think about what’s in store for us in the future… maybe not so funny:)

“I just flushed my necklace down the toilet so it can go out to sea & someone else can find it. That was a really kind thing to do wasn’t it?”

Funny how a Christmas Carol / Story can have such an impact on a little ones mind.
